1/3 middle set

This hand took place at a 1/3 table at Potawatomi casino in Milwaukee. It was late night, 3a or so, and we were 7 handed at the time.
V1 is YWG (young white guy) who is a recent table change, no reads. Comfortably dressed, has $500 in front of him. V2 is OWG (older white guy) who is loose preflop but pretty fit or fold post, we haven't seem anything OOL or impressive/creative from him. We have also not seen him 3bet pre. He has $250. We cover both.
V1 opens UTG to $12. We have 3s3c in UTG1 and flat. Folds to V2 in BB who 3bets to $38. UTG calls, we call.
Flop ($115)6s3d2h
Checks to us, we check behind.
Turn ($115)Js
V2 leads for $60, V1 calls. I think for a bit and raise to $180. V2 shoves his remaining chips in quickly. V1 thinks for about 10 seconds and re-shoves.
$980 in the pot and $220 more to us. Can you ever fold here? Seems like no but V2's line seems so insanely strong here...like no one at the lower limits would ever do this with a FD. Might be a no-brainer call, but wanted to get others thoughts.

Potawatomi Casino Poker (Milwaukee, WI)

Anyone here frequent the poker room at Potawatomi Casino in Milwaukee?

How is the room/games here? Will be in Milwaukee for work next week and was planning on playing here Friday night and Saturday morning/afternoon.
I've been keeping tabs on Bravo and it seems like they really only get 1-3 for NLHE. Does 2-5 or anything higher run on weekend?

Thanks

First time going to a casino tonight help

I’ve played poker online for years and I’m good with strategy. Not asking so much about tells or anything else more so curious about rules and how to get in the game? Going to Potawatomi in Milwaukee and want to play with not too much but I want to buy in max. What’s a good level for me? 1/2???
Also, how do I know if they have games going on? Please just explain to me like I’m an 8 yr old walking into the casino for the first time.

Need some help planning a trip in June

Hi all!

I checked the sidebar and didn't see any sort of consolidated list of hotel/activity suggestions so I hope this post is okay.

My girlfriend and I are planning on coming to Milwaukee from Chicago the last week of June for a baseball game. We are probably going to rent a car, drive in the morning of the 26th (Wednesday), go to Miller Park that night, and then drive home the afternoon of the 27th (Thursday.) Neither of us have ever been to Milwaukee, so I have some questions regarding hotel choice, downtown nightlife, and transportation.

It seems like it's a little bit cheaper to stay at a hotel outside of "downtown," and I'd rather do that and then just take a lyft into the more bustling part of the city to pre-game and/or post-game. I was looking at the Potawatomi Hotel & Casino. It looks nice & has free parking, which is a draw since we'll be renting a car. Is that insane/weird? Should we just shell out to stay closer to downtown?

Is the easiest way to get to & from Miller just to take a cab/lyft? We obviously don't want to drive because we'll be drinking. I saw there is a bus route from the Water Street district & East Town. Is this reliable & frequent? We could easily go to Water Street or East Town before the game for eats/drinks and catch the bus from there if that's feasible. Being from Chicago, we aren't afraid of navigating transit but I'd just like an idea of what is most efficient. Relatedly, I saw that the bus takes cash or the M*Card. I would be fine with buying a M*Card and getting the 1-day ($4) pass, but where is the easiest place to get the card? Should I just have it mailed? I also didn't see anything about Apple Pay for transit, which I would also be fine with using if it's available.

Finally, general recommendations for bars/restaurants would be great! We will probably wanna do some food/drinks on Wednesday the 26th before the game, maybe a fun bar to hang out after (though I realize it's a weekday), and then somewhere cute for lunch on the 27th before we drive back home. Thanks everyone!

Edit to add: We are both women so LGBT-friendly bars are a plus :)

Anyone doing a Ryder cup trip next year?

Me and a group of buddies just nailed down our itinerary for the trip and holy smokes, am I pumped. What it looks like:
Anybody doing something similar? Obviously going to the Ryder Cup is pretty special but I've always wanted to play Upper Midwest golf. Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota have some of the most beautiful courses and scenery IMO.

What should the Bucks new arena name be?

As you probably know by now the Bucks are getting a new arena that should be ready for the 18-19 season. The naming rights of the arena has not been announced as of now. Some of the biggest companies in Milwaukee are Miller Brewing (Beer), Harley-Davidson (Motorcycles), Roundy's (Supermarket), Usinger's (Sausages), Potawatomi (Casino) and more seen here. The name doesn't have to have anything to do with these companies. I just though I would put it out there so by all means choose any name you want. Here are some renderings of the arena.

Mid-States Poker Tour resumes this weekend at FireKeepers Casino

Even though poker action has cooled down and everyone is waiting for the World Series of Poker to resume, there are plenty of interesting tournaments underway in the United States. Some of them act as satellites for upcoming events and major series, but there are just as many organized by the land-based casinos for loyal customers. Those who reside in Michigan, should know that starting on October 11, the FireKeepers Casino in Battle Creek will host a Mid-States Poker Tour tournament. Players will get to warm up for that event over the weekend, with another tournament worth $1100 taking place at A Ho-Chunk Gaming Wisconsin Dells. Furthermore, those who prefer the convenience of online gambling, can round up their bankrolls by playing in one of the tournaments or cash game tables at Sky Poker. As for the upcoming tournament, FireKeepers representatives are overly optimistic, after the previous edition was a huge success. The winner took home a six digit amount and consolidated his position in the MSPT Season 5 Player of the Year race. May Zarlenga was the most successful player in 2013 and he is expected to return to Michigan for what promises to be a very exciting tournament. He didn't lose time and prevailed in another tournament against 487 players to win $120,000 and the coveted trophy of the MSPT Potawatomi Hotel and Casino in Milwaukee. Among those who are expected to participate this year are former champions, including Thomas Midena, Adam Lamphere and Jordan Townsend. The next tournament will start at noon on October 11 with a satellite, but if you want to know the full schedule, check it out below:Saturday, Oct. 11 12:00 p.m. Main Event Qualifier $250Saturday, Oct. 12 12:00 p.m. Main Event Qualifier $250Monday, Oct. 13 12:00 p.m. Super Satellite to $250 Qualifier $65Monday, Oct. 13 6:30 p.m. Main Event Qualifier $250Tuesday, Oct. 14 12:00 p.m. Super Satellite to $250 Qualifier $65Tuesday, Oct. 14 6:30 p.m. Main Event Qualifier $250Wednesday, Oct. 15 12:00 p.m. Super Satellite to $250 Qualifier $65Wednesday, Oct. 15 6:30 p.m. Main Event Qualifier $250Thursday, Oct. 16 9:30 a.m. Main Event Qualifier $250Thursday, Oct. 16 4:00 p.m. Main Event Day 1a $1,100Friday, Oct. 17 4:00 p.m. Main Event Day 1b $1,100Friday, Oct. 17 8:00 p.m. Main Event Turbo Qualifier $250Saturday, Oct. 18 4:00 p.m. Main Event Day 1c $1,100

An email that I sent to Walker about the Casino

Why is Scott Walker making such poor decisions for Wisconsin taxpayers?
I am sure that this will go right in the deleted folder of the Assistant to the Secretary of the Secretary of Public Affairs, or whoever reads his emails, but I've got to try. Anyway, here is what I wrote:
"Governor Walker, I was a very big supporter of yours from your time as county exec, up through the last election. However, your decision to refuse to reconsider the Menominee tribe's latest offer has not only made me decide that I could not support you as President, I could not even support you for Governor. In fact, I am considering actively working with whoever your opponent is to defeat you. This is coming from a lifelong Republican (I am sure that my name is on the WI GOP mailing lists for a reason - you can look that up, I gave you my contact info). I have heard rumors that the tribe rescinded their offer of a huge bond or escrow account to back up their promise to cover any potential losses to Potawatomi, but have not seen any evidence of this. If this isn't true, you actually took an opportunity to make BOTH the Milwaukee and Kenosha areas happy (new arena and new casino),and protect the state from liability and gave them new reasons to vote against you. While I disagree with this particular decision, my real reason for now be against you is more profound.
I question your decision making abilities and the influences on your decision making. You took a scenario with virtually no risk and a high potential of reward for at least two different counties, a desperate tribe, and the state taxpayers, and you made a decision that is a potential lose/lose/lose/lose/lose. The Menominee Tribe lose much needed revenue. Milwaukee potentially loses the Bucks. Kenosha loses the casino. Wisconsin loses the potential revenue. And you lose both your election to President and re-election to Governor. Remember, only 2 out of 44 presidents managed to get elected President without winning their home state. You won the last election by about 140,000 votes in a non-Presidential cycle. Even if more Democrat-leaning people don't come out, as normally occurs in presidential election cycles, are you confident that 10% or less of your previous supporters is like me? And do you think that you gained any new voters by this decision? You didn't like the odds for the state coming out in the positive due to the casino. How do you like your odds of becoming President????
If I were you, I would hope that the tribe comes back with ANYTHING to sweeten the pot further. Then, you can take it and come off as being a tough negotiator and make it a win/win/win/win/win. Otherwise, listen to the taxpayers from your OWN state, NOT THE POTOWATOMI or your new BEST FRIENDS in IOWA and elsewhere around the country, and take the deal before its too late, and Illinois comes out the winner."
If you agree with what I wrote, I strongly urge that you email him yourself at [email protected] . Copy whatever you want from what I wrote if you want, I don't care. Just make sure that there is enough identifying information to show that it is from someone else. Let's make this a MOVEMENT!!!
Tl;dr Walker's being an idiot

Most popular slots rankings?

Is there somewhere that tracks which slot machines are the most popular in casinos? Or at least tracks which game has the most machines in casinos? It would be interesting to see which companies and which titles are doing the best.
In Milwaukee, it seems that the "Buffalo" series of games from Aristocrat is the most common. Aristocrat also has a lot of other machines at Potawatomi.

Things to do around town on Wed 10/28?

I'm in the Madison area and going to see a band play at Potawatomie on Tues and Weds night. I need something to do with the wife during the day on Wednesday.... and sitting around the casino all day is not really what I had in mind.
I'm familiar with Milwaukee and lived in the burbs for a while, but over the last several years, it's just a zip in and zip out for a concert at night, never really anything during the day...
Miller brewery tour is a maybe, the domes are ok. I understand the art museum is closed for a few more weeks...

Death in County Jail ruled homicide

This is an automatic summary, original reduced by 82%.
The death of an inmate in the Milwaukee County Jail has been ruled a homicide, four months after corrections officers reportedly cut off his water supply for an extended period of time.
The cause of death was dehydration, with other significant conditions including bipolar disorder, according to autopsy results released Thursday by the Milwaukee County medical examiner's office.
Terrill Thomas, 38, was found unresponsive in his cell on April 24, nine days after being arrested for shooting a man in the chest and later firing two shots in the Potawatomi casino.
In July, the Journal Sentinel reported that inmates in cells near Thomas heard him beg for water days before his death and saw the water faucet in his cell had been shut off.
The tap water in Thomas' cell was shut off the day he was brought to the segregation unit, Berry said; those taps are inmates' primary source of drinking water.
Berry said a corrections officer told him the water was shut off because of Thomas' erratic behavior in his previous cell.
