It’s June 18th, 2017. There are three days before the National Hockey League’s first expansion draft in seventeen years, and the boardroom of T-Mobile arena, the future home of the Vegas Golden Knights, is buzzing. Months of scouting, speculation on who might be available, and discussions about possible trades are finally nearing their fruition. Bill Foley, the team owner, steps out to grab another cup of coffee when a thought suddenly strikes him. He works it around in his brain for a second, then runs back into the boardroom. A pro scout who focuses on goaltending is making his pitch to General Manager George McPhee. “...Well, if we don’t take Grabovski, Jaroslav Halak is available as a potential backu-“ “Don’t you DARE speak that bastard’s name to me!” McPhee screams. He quickly snaps out of the PTSD flashback that the goalie’s name inspired and moves on. “We’ll take the centre from them and... what about that Rangers backup instead? That Raanta guy?” On the whiteboard behind them is a set of handshake deals that they have made, pending registration with the National Hockey League's office.
Anaheim trades: Shea Theodore for Expansion Draft Considerations. (Clayton Stoner) Columbus trades: 2017 1st, 2019 2nd, jack johnson, for Expansion Draft Considerations (William Karlsson) Florida trades: Reilly Smith for Expansion Draft Considerations (Jonathan Marchessault) and a 5th round pick Minnesota trades: Alex Tuch for Expansion Draft Considerations (Erik Haula) and a 3rd round pick New York trades: 2017 1st round pick, 2019 2nd round pick for Expansion Draft Considerations (Mikhail Grabovski) Tampa Bay trades: Nikita Gusev, 2017 2nd, and 2018 4th for Expansion Draft Considerations (Jason Garrison) Winnipeg trades: 2017 1st round pick and 2019 3rd round pick for Expansion Draft Considerations (Chris Thorburn) and Columbus 1st
Foley interrupts the goaltending conversation - this can't wait. "George, can I talk to you quickly?" They take a sidebar. "George, I just had a thought. These deals you made - you just traded 'expansion draft considerations,' right?" "Yes, we'll select the player that they want us to." "But what if you don't? What if you just take whoever you want? Would it be against the rules?" "I... well...no. Technically we could do that. But it would be dishonest and would make everyone furious at us." "So? I didn’t buy an NHL team to make friends. I bought an NHL team to win a Stanley Cup, and also to let people know that I went to West Point. Did you know I went to West Point?” “Yes Bill” “I trust you George. Now go out there and get me a championship.”
Tensions are high in the green room on June 21st. General managers are walking in and out to greet and chit-chat with George McPhee and Bill Foley, the newest members of their exclusive fraternity of NHL executives. They laugh and exchange stories: Joe Sakic tells them about the gas leak in the Pepsi Centre that they noticed as soon as the season was over; Peter Chiarelli asks them to give him a call if they draft a right handed defensive defenceman (because that Draisaitl kid isn't really working out); John Chayka asks them if they're hiring. McPhee is having a hard time keeping things light and friendly, knowing that he's about to betray all of these men. Just submitting an offer sheet is enough to get you kicked out of the GM Secret Santa, let alone dishonesty at this level. Gary Bettman walks into the green room excitedly. “Bill, George, I am so excited for us to get going. Everyone in this building is so energized, I even just saw Evgeny Kuznetsov doing some smelling salts in the bathroom!" ~ The Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel and Casino is packed with new Vegas Golden Knights fans. The award show itself is highlighted by the best NHL.com intern-written jokes that unpaid can buy. Host Joe Manganiello is dutifully following the Jack Johnson model on stage: he might be bombing out there but boy is he eating up minutes. After Brent Burns finishes his Norris trophy victory speech, and the PA quickly wipes the crumbs and beard hair off the microphone, the time has come for Vegas’ first picks. "From the Anaheim Ducks, Vegas picks…” McPhee looks out at the smiling faces in the crowd. He sees Bob Murray, sitting with his plus-one for the evening (Randy Carlyle). He sees Jim Rutherford trying to turn his blaring ringtone off with his screen brightness turned up all the way. He sees Lou Lamoriello, sitting with a slightly less murderous look in his eyes than usual. He knows that the friendships he has fostered with all of these extremely normal and competent people will never recover from what he is about to do. He takes a deep breath. “Josh Manson!" The Vegas fans go wild. The attached trade is announced too: they have picked up Shea Theodore in exchange for “draft considerations.” The general managers’ faces contort with fury as it dawns on them what has happened. Things only get worse as McPhee and Foley continue to announce their picks. Instead of taking Erik Haula from the Wild, they take Matt Dumba. And they still get Alex Tuch. Instead of taking Mikhail Grabovski from the Isles, they take Brock Nelson. And they still get a 1st and a 2nd. Instead of taking Jason Garrison from the Lightning, they take Yanni Gourde. And they still get Nikita Gusev. ~ After the show, twenty-nine general managers storm the green room with murder in their eyes. Bettman tries to deflate the situation. “Good evening gentlemen. I understand you’re upset, bu- Wait, where’s Jim Benning?” “He got stuck in the revolving door somehow. But we have him on speakerphone.” Benning's voice bellows out of Pierre Dorian's team-issued Motorola Razr. “That was an embarrassment! A mockery! An insult to everything that hockey is supposed to be! Who even wrote those 'jokes' anyway?! And by the way, the expansion draft was bullshit too!” Bob Murray’s face is an angrier shade of red than usual. “George you scumbag, we had a fucking deal! We only traded you Shea Theodore so that you would take Clayton Stoner!” McPhee says “Well actually, Bob, the trade was made for “draft considerations.” And I promise you we really considered taking Stoner.” The room erupts in anger again. Garth Snow is irate as well: "You bastard, how could you take Nelson?! Resigning Tavares would've been a sure thing if you had taken Grabovski instead! I can't imagine how this franchise's cap situation could possibly be any worse!" Lou Lamoriello smirks. Bettman sighs and tries to be diplomatic. “Gentlemen, I’m sorry, but he’s right. It says in the transcripts of the official trade calls that the trades were made purely for ‘considerations’, not for the selection of specific players. There’s nothing we can do about that. That being said, George, per the NHL’s licensing agreement with EA Sports we will need to confiscate a few of your phones.” The managers walk out of the room grumbling. On the way out, a confused Dale Tallon says “There's one thing I don't understand: If George went back on all those other deals, why didn’t he take Alex Petrovic from us instead of that Marchessault guy? And he still took that cap dump Reilly Smith from us too! What an idiot.” ~ The Knights’ players were already fired up by their respective teams’ willingness to let them go – now they’re extra motivated by everyone else in the league hating their guts.
Jonathan Marchessault – William Karlsson – Reilly Smith David Perron – Brock Nelson – Yanni Gourde Tomas Nosek – Vadim Shipachyov – James Neal Ryan Carpenter – Pierre-Edouard Bellemare – Alex Tuch William Carrier Brayden McNabb – Matt Dumba Nate Schmidt – Josh Manson Shea Theodore – Colin Miller Jack Johnson Marc-Andre Fleury Antti Raanta
They claim the President's Trophy and the Stanley Cup in each of their first three seasons. The league's general managers conspire to exact revenge on these scoundrels, and all agree that Marc Bergevin should offersheet their best young players, a plan that immediately backfires when Bergevin inadvertently saves Vegas considerable negotiating time and helps them lock up their core at reasonable numbers. The Knights later find a loophole in the salary cap that allows them to add high-salary free agents seemingly at will. After they sweep through the bubble playoffs in 2020, it becomes clear that no other team can compete with them, and TV ratings hit a dismal low. Amid financial uncertainty caused by COVID-19, the National Hockey League officially folds in late 2020. Agent Allan Walsh, desperately trying to secure spots in the KHL for his stunned clients, soberly sums up the feelings of the hockey world: https://preview.redd.it/q9p41mrmnzv51.png?width=560&format=png&auto=webp&s=5db5d08168a2c897b4f57e8473f73612f191398c (Thank you for reading, it's been awhile!)

Not Financial Advice (NFA) Warning: Wall of Text. If you hate reading just skim through the bolded/italicized Ever since I publicized my findings on DKNG, the stock has underperformed & probably has fucked a lot of people here, especially given the overly bullish stance back in June. Unless you took my advice & got into Puts then, congrats, welcome to tendie town. For the ADHD retards, here’s what the next wall of text is going to summarize: I believe at the current price of ~$30, the stock is oversold. A tech-focused, high-growth Company that has made sports betting easy to understand with an aesthetically pleasing interface similar to how Robinhood has neatly laid out stock market gimmicks so even high-schoolers can make sense of it I believe, is underpriced at these levels. Let’s get into some details as to why the stock has underperformed: First off, the news slate revolving sports with the rumored delay/cancellation of the MLB season & the NFL watching from the sidelines is in my view, just a part of why the stock has underperformed. We’ll revisit this later in this post, but I want to focus on the drivers of the stock’s recent underperformance, & why these factors are now in the rearview mirror. Part I – The Past Has Passed – SPAC-related Equity Dilution History lesson first: DKNG went public via a SPAC merger, which has exploded in popularity recently. Anyone serious about analyzing stocks going forward needs to do their homework on this, Google is your friend. A feature of most SPAC merger to public listings that creates a headwind to near-term share prices are embedded equity dilution events, usually in the form of earn-outs (stock bonuses to execs, the SPAC sponsor) & conversion of Warrants. On 5/24, the earn-outs were triggered, adding 6m shares to the share count. On 6/26, 16.3m warrants converted to DKNG, netting them ~$188m of cash. Stepping back a little, in addition to the above, on 6/18 DKNG launched a follow-on equity offering of 16M shares @ $40/Share , receiving $621M in proceeds. The last part is tricky to understand from a dilution perspective. To simplify, historically it’s almost a coin toss whether a Company’s shares outperform on the onset of an equity offering. While issuing shares does dilute the existing shareholder base, it theoretically shouldn’t, if the proceeds from the offering are earmarked for investments/projects that yield outsized returns. This is the reality for the long term, theory for the short-term. For the short-term, the ‘reality’ isn’t that the proceeds will be used for investments/projects that yield outsized returns, it is more about how convincing management is to investors that the investments they intend to pursue with the proceeds will outweigh the dilutive effects of issuing incremental shares. That’s a mouthful, but hopefully you get what I’m trying to convey. All of this stuff put together – the Company has increased its share count by ~39M, but now has a whopping ~$1.4Bn of cash . More on this in the next section. Part II – MLB News Should Not Fucking Matter & DKNG Is Positioned As the Leading Online/Mobile Sports Platform DKNG should not be so tied to MLB news or any of this shit as the ongoing success of the NBA/NHL season + Soccer in Europe has effectively created a blueprint on how to regulate player behavior so that they maintain professionalism amidst the pandemic. I’m going out on a whim here, but I truly think the MLB threatening a cancellation of the season is pure posturing to get these fuckers to behave appropriately. Maybe a ‘bubble’ is what it takes to get these players to focus on their jobs instead of going out & contracting COVID, but I argue that isn’t necessarily required given Soccer in Europe. So there’s already a proven path here without the need for a bubble in Soccer, so MLB/NFL should be fine, and execs need to study how they got it done in Europe. Okay, back to some facts. Anecdotally, I’ve kept in touch with a handful of sports bookies from California to New York & even internationally about what they’re seeing – all of them say that since the NBA season started on 7/30 & since Soccer (especially the Premier League) resumed in June, along with other leagues like La Liga & Serie A, they’ve seen massive increases in betting. These numbers are also showing up in the official data :
Average % increase in sports betting handle from April 2020 to June 2020 (handle is the total $ wagered in sports bets) from the states that reported up to June 2020 (NJ, PA, MS, RI, WV, IA, IN, NH) of +258%!
Note: NV is left out due to the site I sourced showing a weirdly negative number – so I dug into the official filings & show specifically, Sports Mobile betting growth from June since April has growing by at least +73%
REMEMBER: This is for June only! No NBA, No NHL, No MLB, just Soccer, Golf, NASCAR & UFC. The data clearly shows that there was a ton of pent-up sports betting demand, which leads one Wall St. analyst to think that betting on the NBA/NHL could ABSORB the MLB’s sports betting handle (handle = total $ size of sports bet) . Remember, the MLB season is still ongoing, with games being played. The entire focus is on the Miami Marlins & St. Louis Cardinals. Fucking retards. Additionally, I want to remind everyone that DraftKings.com is the #1 Fantasy sports website in the U.S. . Also, since April 2020 site visitations are up +86% & Google Search Trends for “Draft Kings” is up ~3xcompared to PRE-COVID levels . What does this mean? They are piquing more people’s curiosity than prior to COVID/ongoing slate of sports. This is important because remember that ~$1.4Bn chest full of cash I mentioned DKNG had assembled earlier? Well, that money is being put to work & results are already coming in, which is exactly what DKNG intended to do with it. Part III – Legalization of Sports Betting in the U.S. I could write a fucking bible on this topic alone, but for now we’ll stick to some basics. Due to COVID, it’s easy to understand that each State’s financial situation is clearly in shit. Because of this, you better believe that these guys are going to start taking a hard look at how they can extract additional tax revenues, & what’s one of the easiest ways to do this? Legalization & taxation of gambling. The big players: CA, TX, FL & NY. First, CA pushing its legislation out to 2023 was fucked up, but here’s a twist I want to add to this: Anything that has to do with gambling in CA you better believe is lobbied against by not just the Tribal casino owners in CA, but by the deep pockets of Las Vegas money. Similar thing can be said for FL, but let’s take a look at some actions by LV/nationwide gambling companies that are starting to align financial incentives with guys like DKNG.
MGM / GVC Holdings JV in BetMGM - $450m total invested
PENN invests $163m into BS Sports
Caesars has a 20% stake in William Hill plus partnership deals with The Stars Group (TSG) & our winner DKNG for operating its sports books
So it’s safe to say going forward, nationwide legalization of sports betting will reap rewards for everyone involved, & no longer be something LV money is completely focused on safeguarding. Let’s also not forget that DKNG didn’t become the Company they are today because of their fancy app, but because their management team has a HISTORY of navigating the U.S.’s legal framework to get what they want out of it.
The Crown Jewel – The Internet Gambling Prohibition & Enforcement Act: I said it in a previous post, but I want to emphasize that them getting Fantasy Sports to be labeled a ‘game of skill’ by FEDERAL Law as opposed to gambling is just something for the history books. Fucking genius shit. When this happened I bet every casino from LV to every Indian Tribe that has one was against it, yet DKNG & other DFS providers won.
There’s more, but more recently: Getting into IL:
In IL, there’s an 18-month ‘penalty box’ for Companies that offer DFS to offer sports betting. Our guys at DKNG created a workaround to this situation with their partnership with Casino Queen . DKNG being savvy again.

A golden peyote was discovered in the game files, but nobody knew what it would do. Nobody could even find the damn thing. But sure enough, a week after it was noticed, it was found by rkRusty, and it turned him into Bigfoot. His replication instructions included how to find the golden peyote every Tuesday morning; what he didn’t know, was there are actually 7 golden peyotes plants, one for each day of the week (but they all turn you into the same version of Bigfoot). rkRusty noticed Rockstar updated the peyote scripts and left a note referring to him personally: “He was wrong to start his hunt on Tuesday.” Although, in hindsight it is a simple solution, at the time nobody bothered to experiment with taking the peyote plants every day of the week. 6 months later, the_stoned_ape decided he needed to restart the investigation, which led to NIC779 eating the golden peyote plants from Monday-Sunday, and finding the dead hunter. A few days later, Mozmachine noticed the Bigfoot had a growl, and when used, something growled back. This furry game of Marco Polo kept going around in circles until a few dedicated hunters dug through the files to figure out the outcome. The growls were actually coming from Teen Wolf, and if you beat him in a scrapyard showdown, you unlock him in Director Mode.
Golden Nugget (Atlantic City) Commercial With Fake Million Dollar Check
There is this relatively recent commercial that plays constantly on News 12 New Jersey for the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City, NJ. It probably plays in PA and NY as well and is for online gambling (New Jersey allows it, but you technically have to be physically in the state). The owner is on a virtual Zoom call (evidently recorded during COVID-19) and is announcing in an almost passive aggressive and mocking tone, to paraphrase, that "I hate to give up a million dollars, but I am so happy that a long time customer is getting this". He then "hands" over a fake million dollar check to a very bloated but clearly content gambler. When you see this guy's tone and demeanor, especially his fake and nearly sarcastic "I am so happy", he comes across as almost threatening and menacing, like he is Robert Deniro in "Casino", wagging his finger and smirking while implying, "You mutha-####, you got me dis time, enjoy it while it lasts, you fat bastard." I do not know what viewers are supposed to take away from the commercial. A guy who is a "long time" gambler, who sort of looks it, too, "just" won a million dollars. The guy probably lost close to as much money as "a long time" gambler. The owner clearly tries to vocally emphasize that he is happy that a "long time customer" won, implying that some schmo who wins on his first try will clearly tick off the owner. He is almost saying, "I want the habitual gamblers to come here, and if they happen to win, I will be ok with it just once, but don't push your damn luck." When he says he is "so happy", he is clearly anything but happy based on the tone of his voice. What is odd is that with a commercial you get many takes to get it right. This looks like it was done on one take and the guy was doing a bad job hiding his displeasure. I understand that Golden Nugget probably has many "million dollar winners" and the guy isn't going to cry about that every time someone happens to win. But he really does come across as if he is in emotionally retching pain telling the guy he's getting a million dollars. I have also read that entrepreneurs are extremely thrifty and many will actually bemoan the loss of even small amounts. In any case, the commercial does not present anything novel or interesting about the casino, while really showing more about the owner, who comes off as bitter and even angry. Maybe they were trying to show a "personal side" to the owner? Maybe he was aiming to come across as a "buddy" to gamblers who is "in it for them". But that is clearly not what came across. Had the owner wanted to appeal to (1) the public at large or (2) long time gamblers more specifically, he could have done the same thing but avoided the unnecessary commentary where he says "I am so [effin] happy". But his face, tone, and demeanor all say "I am so unhappy". A lot of these people don't realize that people are not stupid and they can tell when they are being told a lie. Narcissists, in general, are bad at realizing that people can see their lies through them, because they think that people buy into all of their b.s. I am not sure if the guy is a narcissist or not but he must have thought, looking at the finished product, that "Damn, that looked good", which clearly it did not.
Hey everyone, I’ve been using this reddit for a while, mainly to make myself feel better by hearing about others similar (or in many cases, very much worse situations). I’ll give you a short background on myself and gambling; Since I was about 5 years old I’ve been exposed to gambling. My father bet, my family bet, and anyone close to me gambled. I always knew they lost money but for me it seemed different. After I got older around 16-17 I started gambling on fantasy football leagues. $20 here and $20 there for the potential return of hundreds was amazing. I won a few of those and even won my freshman year of college March madness tournament that raked in $500+! Soon after this I found a bookie that offered online wagering. I won some and loss some, but my weeks never ended with winning or losing more than $200. One week I even won $900 betting NBA, NHL, and NFL was my speciality (I’m a favorites whore to say the least lol) On top of the world and thinking I knew what I was doing I started to increase my wager size. Soon after I realized that my EV (expected value) became negative placing sports wagers and I turned 21 with about a clean slate and $4K saved up. Good summer job that raked in nearly $12k last summer and then I started to go to the casinos... While I had everything under control and never lost more than $400 in a night and won as much as $1200 in my first night gambling at Atlantic City, I still felt positive that I could beat the house. I knew I loved gambling but never admitted I had a problem. I was winning money for Christ’s sake, but I. Was. Addicted. Over the last 9 months I was going to the casino 5-6 nights a week. I thought I had things under control by cashing out when I hit my goal $200/300/400 and trying to leave when I would lose my cash I brought with me (usually max $350) BUT I COULDNT ACCEPT A LOSS. I’d say about 75% of nights I would cash out up my goal, but on bad nights...I’d hit the ATM 3 or 4 times until my withdrawal limit of $1000 was reached that night. Going home pissed off and sad was the worst but it made me appreciate winning so much more..and I always seemed to make it back. One night I lost $950 and the following week I won 6 nights in a row pocketing more than $2000. The casino I regularly used told me I was up close to $7000 on their rewards system since I was using them, and I’ve been to casinos across NY, WV, and even PA never being down or up more than $500, but I did have my go to casino which had me UP. Starting in January things took a turn for the absolute worst. I lost $2500 in 2 weeks at my favorite casino and resorted back to online gambling. I started to win $1000+ a week and some weeks I would lose $1200+ but I still had money in my bank to keep me afloat. A few bad weeks and I started really stressing. My savings hit about $3000 and I graduated college a year ago. Student loans started to hit and my gambling to pay these off got more severe. I started making stupid plays and betting more than anyone should ever have to on basketball lines, tennis sets, and even volleyball. My bank account hit $1500 from the $15k I had less than 9 months prior (rent, student loans, and other expenses was what I attributed it to, but I know I’d have a lot more $ if I didn’t gamble) Covid-19 quarantine hits and there are no casinos, no sports, and nothing to gamble on. I start going stir crazy as I am 100% addicted. Fanduel and DraftKings offer casino Promotions with their RNG platforms!? I make my deposits and start winning instantly. $1000 here and $1800 on one of my best nights. I now have $4500 in my bank and can finally relax, right?? No. I start increasing my bets and the random number generator (RNG) turns into a rigged number generator. I start depositing more and more to try and make back the money I had at one point and the system keeps taking my money. One night I deposited $1600 into my account and lost it all. A couple weeks later and trying to stop gambling here and there, but only being successful for 5-6 days at a time before relapsing, I need help. I want to stop gambling but I feel like that is who I am. I no longer have the funds to gamble and my bank account is at $1000 that I can’t touch. I have 2 jobs right now bringing in close to $2500 a month. I just want to be happy and enjoy life again without the urges to gamble but it’s too accessible. Gambling is a losing hobby, you lose money, friends, relationships, but most importantly your mind. Where do I go from here? How do I stop gambling for longer than a week? What’s life like on the other side of gambling? ...these are questions I ponder everyday. Thanks for reading and I wanted to thank you all for sharing your stories.
The results are in for Match 2... Location - Washington, DC: It had been quite some time since Pengolo had seen many of the Rascals. Since their home–however involuntary as it may have been–had been destroyed, they had gone their separate ways. Nowhere Man had retreated to his commune; Take had long distanced themselves; and Tunde had joined an alliance with other UU players. With this newfound freedom, Hive returned home and resumed his work with the Red Cross. It was in his nature to help those when and where he could. And it was for that reason that his mind kept straying back to the fall of La Villa and all those who had been left behind. Hive had managed to convince Lucas not to dive back in for them with the same reasoning his Stands had given him: those still within would be safe as the escapees regrouped. Hive and Lucas had kept in contact since then, eyes to the day when they would reconvene to finish the fight. His dear Marcella would have to wait, just a little longer. He perked up as he heard the door ring. Lucas hadn’t mentioned he would be around any time soon… he’d said he’d been across the country the other day. He smiled warmly. Imagine his surprise it was another of his friends! “Tunde!?” Sure enough, the woman was standing on his doorstep, donning a head wrap and sunglasses which she lowered to wink at him. “You sound surprised.” “Well, yeah!” Hive wiped the shock off his face and beamed at her. Tunde had given him no contact info before leaving, but evidently still having kept tabs on him. But when he opened the door wider so that she could enter, she shook her head, staying on the threshold. Hive frowned. “Can’t stay for long?” Tunde nodded. “Unfortunately not, but at least I bring a gift.” At this, the space behind Tunde warped and distorted, ｢AmbitionZ｣ shimmering into view. Hive recognized the Stand from its late user’s sojourn in La Villa, but even still...he lifted his eyepatch. His new friend, ｢Solid State Scouter｣’s reticle focusing on the Stand leering before him. Even in the glimpse he got before he had to shut his eye and put back on his patch, he could tell much had changed about it. Hive looked at her with some suspicion. “Where did you find ｢AmbitionZ｣?” “I had to run some errands in Egypt. Share some notes, reconnect with some old friends, I thought you two might be able to get along.” ｢AmbitionZ｣ floated over to Hive, chittering happily to itself all the while, looking over him hungrily. Seemingly mollified, he could feel the click of it attaching to him, binding to his soul. Could feel the slow drain of its weight on his flesh, as it began to be eaten away…such a wonderful feeling. He stroked over his arm. This Stand…｢AmbitionZ｣...he’d have to make himself the best meal he could be for his new friend. Hive understood that ｢AmbitionZ｣ saw itself as a weapon, something aimless and destructive, but he was so familiar with aimless. He knew his friend was far from the death machine that others may have seen it as. But, if it were a weapon, he sheathed it, dispelling the Stand… for now. He could properly introduce it to the others later. He looked up at Tunde, only to see her walking back into the night. “Hey, wait up!” He called, extending a hand. She turned a bit, a smirk on her face. “I’ll see you soon, Pengolo. But I still have matters to attend to first. You do too.” She waved. “I’ll see you sometime.” Tunde hummed to herself, paging through her trusty little book. So many labs, so many people, so much material… ah, this was a really wonderful day. A breakthrough. A chance to set the wheels turning, to put her little plan into motion. Maybe someone would even come after her soon…Schioppo? Gioia? Kaito? She smiled, holding the pages to her chest. Oh…all of them were so wonderful…any of them would be. Hadrian, that dear boy, was surely living his life as well. She would have to look into him later…. True warmth blossomed in her. Her life really was a blessed one. Her eyes had been opened, and this sight…she wouldn’t turn down this path for anything. The winner is Tunde Ó Santos, with a score of 63 to Hadrian Moore’s 55!
Tunde Ó Santos
Tunde broke away for the goalline with a 4-1 lead and escaped the curse for a 7-3 victory!
With that, we must now sadly bid goodbye to Team Neptune, Ocean’s 11, the fifth team to be eliminated from Tournament 4. They came out swinging from the very first match, and while they didn’t often make the top of many perceived rankings, no one could deny the impact they had, and they clearly had what it took to stick around into the quarterfinals. Let’s take a moment to remember…
Location - Somewhere in California: Schioppo Fucile wasn’t the only Fairy Feller anxious and brooding during the first weeks of 2021, worried about how he’d be able to take down one of the most dangerous women in the world, a direct threat to those he cared about. Caring about people was not something Ric Hawks considered a strong suit, and in some ways that was an advantage. Getting too worked up about his fears for Melanzane and the Fellers would play right into the Iron Rooster’s ability. But it didn’t mean he didn’t care at all. Far from it. The departure of Stefan had left a hole somewhere Ric hadn’t known existed. All of this passed through his head as he lay awake in the dark of his motel room. He’d poured the last year of his time and income into Urban Uprising and then XPLICIT, with nothing to show for it. Sure, Kris, Schioppo, and especially Gioia had succeeded in taking down Lyte thanks in no small part to his own research, but… Ric’s thoughts were interrupted by the creak of a door and a beam of light from the hallway. The Arancinis stepped inside the room Melanzane and Ric were sharing, moving quietly to avoid disturbing him. “Hey,” Ric said gruffly. No point in them trying not to wake him when there was no chance he’d get any sleep tonight anyway. “Ah, did we wake you?” Melanzane asked. Ric sat up and shook his head. “No. Can’t sleep anyway.” “I am sorry to hear that, my friend. What’s bothering you?” Ric clicked on the bedside lamp and shot the ballerino a look. “Guess.” “Feeling powerless in the face of Saint Cecilia?” Melanzane mused. “I must admit I can relate. There is little I can do anymore without danger, but such is the way of things. We must be strong, yes?” Ric grunted in noncommittal agreement. Gioia watched the two men silently, her own worries mounting. Ric, her father, and her boyfriend were all walking into dangerous confrontations, and everyone seemed too afraid to even communicate with each other. Noriko and Kris were both pulling double-duty as the voices of reason and positivity, fine lines for the bus driver and traceur to walk. “We can’t worry about her yet anyway,” she found herself saying. “She’s been keeping her head down all year, and there’s plenty to clean up closer to home.” Ric looked up. “Oh yeah?” “Remember when we were with La Horde?” Gioia asked. “What the guys from Ocean’s 11 said, what they found about the Black Beetles. Selleck and his intern might be dead, but there’s still XPLICIT out there. Hadrian made it all the way through their top Stand to get this information.” “We already have a mission, Gioia,” Ric growled. “Schioppo’s already chasing a vendetta, and we can’t afford anyone else running off chasing sidequests.” “Sidequests?” Gioia chuckled sadly. “You’re starting to sound like Stefan.” “He has a point, though,” Melanzane noted. Gioia sighed, straightening her back and looking Ric and her father in the eye, each in turn. “It’s more than just Cecilia. I’m not going to let anything go half finished.” Location - Somewhere outside Sacramento, California: Clear skies and a nice, lazy morning, a man in a white suit with black floral designs reclined in a lawn chair on his porch and idly strummed on a banjo. Despite being a capo of a massive gang, a lone Lennon played for an audience of plants rather than people, dulcet chords floating out over the orchard. All the Beetles’ warehouses were changed out, the shipping routes rerouted, and more to ensure others couldn’t get their hands on their product. Instead, the gang’s supplies of XPLICIT were being recalled, all stores sending it to a location. All stores except one: Lennon’s pride and joy, this farm and his Stand ability had allowed him to maintain the stream of XPLICIT that they had, but all that was coming to an end too. XPLICIT wasn’t worth the hassle, before it was easy to measure out the product to prevent rampant Stand manifestation, but now that the cat was out of the bag, even just holding it was a liability. Lennon had tried to keep his cash crop, even trying to create a hybrid to match its drug quality without the side effects. However, after countless debates with Carter, he ultimately agreed to burn this bridge and move on with the rest of their operations. At least the shipping lines they had set up were worth something. SNAP! The pick broke after days of use. Lennon frowned, before slipping off his ring. He pinched it between his fingers and, after a few picks and plucks to accustom himself to its weight and feel, resumed strumming. Even if the gang didn’t have much use for XPLICIT, others still did. And so, Lennon waited. He didn’t need to waste any manpower to take care of the farm, sooner or later there should be a Stand user or two coming. All Lennon had to do was wait. Location - San Francisco, California: Kaito basked in the air of a sunny Californian winter morning. Not a flake of snow to be found, just a smile on his face, and a train ticket to Sacramento in his hand. The once-member of the Civil Disobedients, now disbanded, found himself walking with a purpose towards the train station. It really felt like he had turned over a new leaf. He was able to start putting the last few months behind him, and continue doing his own thing… which he had yet to decide what it would be. Never mind a bout of teenage indecision; for Kaito, life was looking up. He had even begun reconnecting with another former Civil Disobedients member, Djimon! As the young brewmaster had angrily departed from the team during a stroke of poor luck, he thought he had ruined that particular relationship forever. But when he had accepted the call to join the Uncivil Umbra, there he found a familiar face in Djimon, and a mutual desire to rekindle the old friendship. Making his way to the designated platform, he found himself now pondering the disbandment of Uncivil Umbra. It had only been hours, maybe a day or two at the most, but the level of purpose and comradery he had felt while he had been there was unmatched. He had set out to help collapse Lyte, and had succeeded in his task. Arrests were made, perhaps he had found a little too much fun in some particular destruction, but with the danger thwarted, he was able to just have fun with his Stand, act his age again! On the horizon, a train sped towards the station, and as it pulled beside the platform, creaking to a halt, over the PA, a voice sounded. “Now boarding for Sacramento.” Finding a seat onboard, Kaito shoved his ticket into his pocket, staring out the window as he recalled what he had set out to do. He had heard bits and pieces about a certain vineyard through the grapevine—no pun intended. It was run by the Black Beetles, and inexplicably, the operation was tied to XPLICIT production. If Kaito could have a hand in shutting it down, he’d do it. Location - Somewhere outside Sacramento, California: Kaito hopped out of the car at the given address, the taxi peeling away behind him. He looked around at the quaint entrance, the grass and shrubs scattered around the property neatly manicured. Kaito rubbed his fingers idly over the leaves in a shrub shaped in a way he had never seen before. For the supposed drug stockpile of a gang, the villa was oddly serene, quiet. No one and nothing in sight as he looked around. He had been expecting something else, although he couldn’t quite put what that was into words. Maybe some beaten up, foreclosed hideout? Blood splatters on the dirt, “No Trespassing” signs on a barbed wire fence? Soon, however, his eyes fell upon a person walking deeper into the property. “Hey!” The woman turned to face him, her guarded expression softening to one of recognition. A young man with whom her teammates had become very acquainted, and whose teammate she had the utmost respect for. Gioia waved out to him. “You must be Kaito. My name is Gioia Arancini. I’m a friend of Kris and Noriko’s.” “Oh!” Kaito straightened out, smiling warmly and waving likewise. “Yeah, that’s me! Nice to finally meet you, Gioia.” Chuckling, he continued. “Fairy Fellers, what’s with me and running into you over and over again? Without you guys, I’m not sure I would’ve been able to take on that Fork-head!” Gioia blinked, “Who?” Kaito flushed slightly, “Don’t worry about it! It’s uh—he’s off doing his own thing I think, don’t worry about it!” In recovery, he gestured up the winding dirt road that led to the side of the property. “Let’s see what’s up, c’mon!” The walk up the long path was fairly quiet, no signs of danger to be found. For a man that could control plants, it didn’t seem like any here would be too capable of harming anybody. Thornless white roses, a bed of 10 leafed clovers, a tree growing multiple different species of apples, an odorless rafflesia and other rare or mildly interesting plants. As they continued walking they began to hear...a banjo playing in the distance? The performer could just barely be made out now: a man in a white suit with floral patterns, it seemed that one of the leaders of the Black Beetles was sitting right in front of them, “Hello there,” Lennon waved to them as they approached, lazily rocking in a chair on the porch. “How’d you guys like my collection? Pretty neat, ain’t it?” Kaito smirked, and broke into a sprint, ｢Fujisawa Loser｣ summoned behind him. “KANPAI!” He yelled out, a tendril of booze prepped to slam down on the front steps. Lennon blinked, and tossed a black rose from his suit in his direction. The rose floated down and burst into a small cloud. Kaito stumbled, eyes watering. “ Ah sh… aah…..aaah….. Aachu..aachu!” He began to sneeze uncontrollably, falling to the ground clutching his stomach as it became more and more difficult to breathe, vision swimming as his eyes kept watering. “Kaito!” Gioia yelled, reading herself into a sprinting position as well— “I wouldn’t do that if I were you” Lennon chimed in, getting Gioia to pause slightly. “There’s still pollen hanging in the air. Besides, I just wanted to talk to you two. Nothing more.” Kaito’s sneezing began to subside, and he started taking deep breaths, gasping as if he had just been drowned and resurfaced. “...Now, you two are here which means you should know how us Black Beetles work. What we’re doing.” Lennon raised his right hand and flashed a peculiar looking ring. “Now I promise you what I’m telling you is true. The Black Beetles are getting out of the XPLICIT business. Everything has been recalled or is being destroyed at this moment. Behind this house is my XPLICIT farm, I already cut their water supply and mostly killed the trees. I just need some people to help me break and toss them away.” Lennon extended his hand to the two of them, “Now that’s where you two could give me a hand.” Kaito and Gioia look to each other. Kaito laughed. “So you want people more inclined to kick your ass to do your work for you? Maybe the rest of the gang is busy, huh?” He brushed the stubble on his chin. “You’re totally using us, right?” “Does it matter?” Lennon stated. “You’re getting what you wanted, for free, and I’m prepared to give you something for the effort. I do have some information you guys may be interested, and you did come all this way to make sure the XPLICIT is gone, right?” Lennon stood up, “The choice is yours. You can leave, break the trees yourselves...” Lennon walked up to the door. “Or you could try and fight me. I wouldn’t recommend it. Talk to me in the greenhouse behind the house once the deed is done.” With that, he went inside and closed the door. Gioia and Kaito stared at the house, and glanced to each other awkwardly. There was absolutely no way that the house wasn’t trapped extensively. “This is odd,” Gioia said simply. “You’re right in that we’re being used.” “Yeah,” Kaito added. “I wanted to try a little fighting before I did what I came here to do, but….” “But it would be near suicide to go in without extensive preparations of our own. Very likely fireproofed as well.” Kaito shrugged. “Well, anyways!” He punched his fist. “I’mma go ahead and get started.” Gioia quirked an eyebrow. “Even though we’re being used?” Kaito scoffed. “So what, people have been using me for years. I don’t care, he gets something out of it and I get a good time. Win win.” He began walking to the back, everything he wanted to say said. Gioia sighed, but she could see his point. She didn’t want to leave the existence of this orchard to continue, and she’d prefer to ensure this herself. Besides that, the information Lennon could give was tantalizing. To have any advantage going forward to her next battle…. She turned away hesitantly from the house and followed Kaito, bemused. When the two walked around to the back, a vast orchard open up before them, row upon row upon row of trees stretching out into the distance. Yet, rather than bearing fruit, strange pods hung from their branches, their contents apparent to both. “Hey, Gioia,” Kaito piped up, Gioia turning to face him in acknowledgement. “You remember that time at the swamp, yeah?” “Yes...what about it?” “You got us pretty good back there, but I’m running it back,” Kaito smirked. “There’s a lot of trees we gotta smash, so we may as well make this fun. Whoever breaks more of them wins?” He offered her his hand. Gioia chuckled softly. Her reputation had preceded her, and if this “sidequest” could include a friendly competition, there was little reason to decline. She placed her hand into his, shaking it firmly. “Very well. You’re on, Kaito.” Kaito squeezed her hand with an enthusiastic grin, shaking it wildly. The buildup to the starting gun always got his blood pumping. He had this competition in the bag. What were a few wimpy trees compared to a raging fire, anyway? Bringing his hand back to his side, he gave Gioia one last glance, both readying themselves to a starting position. “Three…” began Kaito. “Two…” “GO!” Shouted Gioia with a laugh, running off into the orchard, a flustered Kaito following suit, yelling after her. “You didn’t ‘open the game’!” Location: Lennon’s XPLICIT farm in Sacramento, CA. In front of you, arranged into a square are four square plots of Lennon’s trees, each about an acre big (about 60 x 60 meters each) with trees bearing pod-fruit structures containing unprocessed XPLICIT. Separating the orchard into these quadrants are dirt paths, 4 meters wide. There are about 5 meters in between the rows of trees and each column contains 30 trees spaced around 2 meters apart. This means each acre contains 360 trees for 1440 trees total. Each tree is only around 2 meters tall, but are fairly durable for their size at around C Durability and well rooted. Given the spacing of the trees, fires wouldn’t be able to jump or spread too easily and it is impossible for them to spread across different rows from their position. Behind the players is a large tool shed and every 20 meters around the edges of the field are industrial sized plant waste containers. The tool shed has everything from chainsaws to shovels to pesticide and anything else a farm or gardener may need. On the opposite side of the area, across the field from the players is a vehicle shed with farming vehicles such as tractors, motorized lifts, plows, cultivators, etc. Goal: Destroy more trees than your opponent! Attacking your opponent would violate the competition you’ve set for yourself and result in an immediate loss, but you can mess with them. Additional Information: Lennon has left a note saying “Help yourself” on the tool shed door and you are free to take whatever you want from inside to start off the match with or take during the match. Lennon has also made the same note on the vehicle shed and the keys to the vehicles are in their ignition. Lennon doesn’t care whatever method you use to get rid of trees as long as the job is done. Since the XPLICIT is in its unprocessed form, trying to use it has no effect beyond tasting really bad.
“It’s the second tree from the right. Memorize it. Make sure you don’t forget that spot.” If you’re gonna do this job, it better be done thoroughly. Destroy trees from as large an area as possible over the course of this match!
“Shit, I gotta find it...there should be some sodium chlorate here!” This is your golden ticket to do some demolition, but you’re here to have fun too. Mix things up and use as many different ways for destruction as you can!
[Tales From the Terran Republic] Fall of the White Star Part Four
Sorry about the absence but I'm back in the saddle. The White Star arc continues. The rest of the series can be found here Shelia flipped through status screen after status screen monitoring her unit’s progress through the ship. Things were going smoothly. Captured crew and passengers were in the process of being separated and secured in separate cargo holds. Almost the entire ship had been secured. Only a few stubborn holdouts remained and they would be running out of air soon. She nodded in satisfaction. She turned to T’sunk’al who was hunched over large pieces of paper on the deck of the bridge. “So, T, how are you coming along?” She asked. “Pretty much done. Just double-checking my work but I should be able to void-jump this baby pretty much any time.” “Great,” she replied. “Sooner this thing falls off the map the better.” She paused and smiled. “Don’t rush it though.” “Don’t worry,” T’sunk’al chuckled. “I have no desire to become one with the universe today.” “Good.” Rupert Glent had finally talked his wife out from under the table shortly before the blast doors to the restaurant slammed open with a “BANG”. Multiple squads of humans, drax, and z’uush swept in shouting commands. Mustering all of his courage he stepped forward with his hands out in front of him. “Listen, we are all reasonable-” he started before he was roughly shoved to the ground by Jak’kul’sha. “Yeah, we are all reasonable,” Jak’kul’sha replied, “And you are going to reasonably pick your ass up and get over there with everyone else.” “How much are they paying you?” Rupert asked still laying on the floor in front of his terrified family. “Enough to not waste my time listening to your bullshit.” “Whatever it is, I’ll double it.” “Oh,” Bal’sur’kala laughed. “There are a whole lot of us. Gonna double everyone’s pay?” “Yes! Yes. No problem.” “Ok, well, doubling it isn’t going to cut it. You are going to have to at least triple it before we will even consider crossing the people in charge. This might come as a shock, but they aren’t terribly nice people.” “Fine!” “Ok,” Bal’sur’kala buzzed. “We are all getting paid over a million credits a piece. That’s fifteen million just for our squad… times eleven squads, most at least as big as ours,” he laughed as Rupert’s face fell. “Do you happen to have one-hundred and sixty-five million in your pocket?” “You just did that in your head? Wow!” Mul’sha’kal gushed. “It’s fuckin’ Brainiac. Course he did it in his fuckin’ head,” Jak’kul’sha grumbled. “Can you stop chirpin’ in his ear till we get these little piggies in the fuckin’ barn?” “I’m… I’m sure we can work something-” “I didn’t ask if we could work something out,” Bal’sur’kala said grinning at Mul’sha’kal, “I distinctly asked you whether or not you had one-hundred and sixty-five million credits currently in your possession.” “Well, no...” “Then shut the fuck up and get your ass in line,” Jak’kul’sha said in a buzzy growl. “And you two,” he barked at the two lovebirds on his team. “I don’t wanna hear either of you fuckin’ chirpin’ till we are done, got it? Not one fuckin’ peep.” “Yes, boss.” they both said in unison. “I’m not your… you know what,” Jak’kul’sha growled and buzzed, “nevermind. Click-holes shut. Eyes open, all of them.” “Councilor!” Helena shouted as she tapped the bars of his cell again, “This is your last chance. Do you have a statement?” “For fuck’s sake, Helena,” Roberts laughed. “Give it a rest for a minute.” “It’s just that this porkie scum is going to go and get his head blown off by you animals without him ever admitting to all of the shit that he did.” “Like you say, porkies gonna pork. Is it really that big of a surprise. Besides, for something like him to admit fault he would actually have to believe that he did something wrong. Bet he doesn’t feel anything close to that.” “Come on, even scum like him has to know what he did. He started the fucking war!” “That’s not entirely accurate,” Roberts chuckled. “Oh he certainly deserves what we are going to do to him for his role in things but there were other factors in play. You haven’t heard the intelligence briefings?” “No...” “Oh, remind me when we get to our ship and I’ll be sure to give you copies of all of their security briefings and deliberations before the war. I thought that was part of what was dropped. They are pretty funny. Director Axlea lost her shit and I mean completely lost it. She was a hoot!” “Holy shit! You have those?” Helena gasped. “Oh yeah, I made sure to grab them while I was in there.” “Wait… you?...” “Yeah, I am in fact the actual fuckstain who did the ‘hack’,” Roberts said as he grinned at her. “You! Oh you asshole!” Helena exclaimed as she launched herself at Roberts. Roberts laughed as he defended himself and as they they wrestled and laughed their eyes met… and they kissed. It was quickly followed by another kiss and then another and another as they lost themselves in each other’s embrace… almost a little too much. They were well on the way to “making up for lost time” before they remembered that they had an audience. “I love you, Paul,” Helena sighed as they stopped pawing each other and she rested her head on his chest. “I love you so fucking much.” “I love you too, Helena,” Paul said as he gently stroked her hair as he held her. They just sat there holding each other. “This is so stupid,” Helena said as she hugged him tight. “I mean we have known each other for how long? A couple of weeks?” “Not even that,” Paul said as he gently kissed her again. “I mean, what are we going to do? I want you in my life, like really in my life, you know?” “Yeah, I know. Me too.” “But we can’t have that. I’ve tried to work out a way but I’d last about a week in the Republic if I was lucky and you… kill orders...” “I know,” Paul said as he held her. “I know. I’ve tried too and I just can’t see.” “Oh please,” Jessie’s voice said over the intercom. “Jessie… Goddammit!” Roberts exclaimed in annoyance as he glared up at a surveillance camera in the corner. “Don’t you have a ship to monitor?” “Oh, I am doing that but Bunny told me that you guys were up to something ‘odd’. I think it’s time I have ‘the talk’ with her… They grow up so fast...” “I am perfectly aware of this ‘talk’ of which you are referencing and I have repeatedly asked you to stop anthropomorphizing me,” a snippy voice cut in. “I just decided that their activities were unusual enough to warrant informing you.” “Oh Bunny, you don’t have to be embarrassed,” Jessie laughed, “I have a book to show you and everything...” “The ‘book’ you are referring to is already in my memory. ‘Showing it to me’ is completely unnecessary.” “Helena, meet Jessie, our hacker and her AI, Bunny,” Roberts said. “Oh, she is the one who saved your bacon, by the way… Oops. That isn’t a slur. It’s a legitimate figure of speech,” he laughed as she gave him a little shove. “Thanks… I guess...” Helena said still unnerved by the eavesdropping Jessie. “Excuse me Jessie but do you still want me to be saving this feed into your spank-bank folder?” Bunny asked. “Bunny!” Jessie exclaimed happily, “That was definitely you giving me an attitude! Was that some genuine emotion there? (And I wasn’t saving it into my completely non-existent spank-bank I swear.)” “Absolutely not,” Bunny responded sounding quite annoyed, “Sapience is beyond my abilities as we have covered… repeatedly… True sapience has never been verified on any artificial intelligence, ever. My actions are all well within the coding that you know very well you have added… freak... and yes she does have a spank-bank. You have an entire sub-folder Mr. Roberts.” “That’s genuine irritation!” Jessie chirped with glee. “Can’t fool me!” “Excuse me, I have a ship to monitor. Nice to meet you, Helena. Good-day… And good luck, I mean it.” “Thanks. Um… Nice to meet you too, bye.” Helena said to Bunny with a little confusion. She had never encountered an AI that sounded so real before. “A whole sub-folder, seriously?” Roberts asked. “Wha? Pssh… No…” Jessie replied. “Who are you going to believe, some tin-can or a trusted comrade in arms? Wait. Don’t answer that,” she laughed. “I assume you had some reason for popping in and killing the mood?” “What? Oh yeah! You can totally be together.” “How?” Helena asked completely forgetting the intrusion. “Become weebs! Carry your little butts over to the Empire! Both the Federation and Terran humans are tolerated over there no problem. Seriously, Roberts, you didn’t think of that?” “But I have work to do in the Federation,” Helena replied. “Yeah, but do you have to do that work in the Federation in the Federation? We have hyperspatial relays, you know. If you simply have to be in the Federation then it couldn’t work… unless you knew someone who manufactured absolutely perfect identities like all the fucking time. I could give Roberts like a dozen of them at a go. I wouldn’t even charge his sorry ass even after he abandons us for some filthy porkie tramp.” “But it’s still so risky,” Helena said both hopeful and uncertain. “Hey, I do risk and Jessie does make a mean ID,” Paul said as he held her in his arms. “Oh, shit. I gotta go,” Jessie babbled, “later.” A few moments pass and then Shelia’s voice issues from the intercom. “Roberts, I’m sending a squad to relieve you,” Shelia said, “As soon as they show up carry your ass over to Bruce’s Emporium.” “I’m going too,” Helena said as she grabbed her camera. Breathing heavily, Bruce locked the door to his office and looked over at Sarah, his partner. “You ok?” He asked. “Yeah, mostly.” Sarah said as she clutched her side, blood seeping from between her fingers. “It isn’t too deep, I think.” They were the only ones that made it. Terrence got blind-sided when the kids turned on them and George got tackled as they tried to run. Where did Kiera get a knife? He opened his desk and pulled out a blaster pistol. He could hear them scratching at the door and rattling the latch. How could this be happening? This was the Federation. This was the White Star. Things like this just didn’t happen in places like this. Things like this didn’t happen to people like them. “What are we going to do?” Sarah asked Bruce as she looked at the door nervously. “I’m not sure,” Bruce replied. He walked over to a wall safe and opened it grabbing some data crystals. “One thing I do know is that we gotta get out of here,” he said as he activated the blaster. “Another thing I know is that we need to make sure that our kids can’t talk. Once they are dead what we’ve got on these,” he said as he gestured with the data crystals, “can get us out of any hot water once we manage to get off of this ship.” “What about the pirates?” “What about them? They might be Terran but they’re pirates and won’t give two shits about what we are doing. If we can talk to them maybe I can work something out. We got cash, a lot of it, maybe enough to buy our way out of this mess.” “Yeah, let’s hope so,” Sarah said as her blood dripped onto the floor. “But first we gotta get out of here. You think you can shoot them all?” “Where are they going to go?” Bruce laughed, “We are locked in. They have nowhere to run.” He walked over to the door and laid his hand on the latch. “Just stay here,” he said as he gave her a wicked smile, “This shouldn’t take long.” He opened the door and before he could take one step out of the office an energy bolt hit him squarely in the chest knocking him to the floor. Sarah just stood there in shock as Roberts, holding a stun rifle, entered the room. “Hello there,” Roberts said with a pleasant smile as he shot her. He then turned back to the doorway. “It’s clear!” he exclaimed. Helena quickly appeared taking photo after photo. Roberts pocketed the data crystals and grabbed his phone. “The Emporium is secure. We managed to save Bruce and one of his employees and have secured the captives,” he said into his phone. “Good deal,” Shelia responded. “How are the captives?” “Good. They have a few bumps and bruises from their attack on their captors but nothing requiring Eno’s attention. We might want him to check out the woman I just stunned. She got cut pretty deep and we don’t want her to die early.” “Die early?” Helena asked in surprise. “Hey, Eno,” Shelia said, “How busy are you? Can you go to the Emporium?” “Yeah, things are stable back here,” Eno replied. “I’ve got everyone treated and stable.” “How much damage are we looking at back there?” Shelia asked. “Not bad. Better than we anticipated. Only one truly critical case and fortunately it’s a human so our nicer stuff worked. The idiot is safely on life-support on our ship.” “Idiot?” “Yeah,” Eno laughed, “You know those heroes that believe that combat armor ‘just slows them down’? Yeah, she found out that a blaster bolt to the lung slows you down even more than a chest-plate.” “Christ,” Shelia chuckled, “Bet she wears her armor next time, if there is a next time. How’s the lung?” “Gone, completely cooked. She’s gonna live but she’s going to be on a machine till they grow a new one for her.” “Shit. Lucky for her we know a guy,” Shelia said, “Grab a squad and head over to the Emporium. Check out the captives too since you will be there anyway.” “Got it, boss,” Eno said, “On my way.” “Roberts, Gloria is tied up for a little while. The last holdouts finally ran out of air canisters and have decided to be stupid.” “Gloria?!?” Helena hissed angrily. “Yes, Gloria,” Shelia laughed. “We have something special planned for Bruce and his friend. Gloria is the one who handles those details for us.” “And she’s been looking forward to this for days,” Roberts added. “Hold the fort there until Gloria shows,” Shelia said, “After that you and Helena head to the docking bay until things are secure.” “Got it,” Roberts said as the communication was ended. “What is Gloria going to do to these people?” Helena asked. “Sometimes we’ve decided that simply killing someone isn’t enough,” Roberts replied calmly, “When that becomes the case Gloria is the one who usually handles the details for us. She can be...” “I fucking know what she can be!” “She can be a lot worse,” Roberts replied, “We decided that Bruce and any of his associates needed to die and die badly. Gloria will handle the ‘badly’ part.” Helena was at a loss. She wanted to disapprove but she had just made her way through a room full of sex slaves, some of them children. She had seen the bruises, the limps, the scars… These people needed to be punished and not by spending a few years in a cushy Federation prison. They needed to suffer. But was this right? It wasn’t. I mean it shouldn’t be. Paul had just told her that Bruce and this woman were about to be tortured to death. There would be no trial, no due process. She should object. This went against just about every value she held dear. But then she looked back at a young girl wearing only a t-shirt and panties peeking around the open doorway and she felt nothing but anger and hatred towards Bruce and his friend. There would be no wiggling out of their fate. There would be no pay off or cover-up or blackmail. No. They were going to face… justice? No. Not justice. Then again, they didn’t deserve that. They were going to get exactly what they had coming. They weren’t going to face justice. They were going to face injustice. No. No no no no. What Paul and his crew were about to do was wrong. This isn’t how civilized people did things. In anger she had often wished “bad things” to happen to scum like the people on this ship but the reality of it… Her whole life right was right and wrong was wrong. It’s what drove her into journalism in the first place. Now, she just wasn’t sure what was “right”. If they did things “right” and turned these scumbags in they would likely never see trial, her story would be buried, and they would be free to set up shop again once things blew over. As fucked up as “wrong” was, their evil stops today. Did they, did Paul, actually have a point? She really didn’t want to believe so. They were going to do with a knife what could never be accomplished otherwise. Shit. This was so fucked up. She found herself wondering what other evil they had stopped and didn’t like that one bit. The young girl timidly walked over and hugged Helena. Helena looked down at her as she hugged her back. Whether it was right or wrong was still something that Helena couldn’t work out but one thing was clear. “It’s ok,” Helena said, “You are safe and they will never hurt you or anyone else ever again.” “Excellent! Good work!” Shelia exclaimed happily as she received the latest reports. She then switched on the PA system. Attention. The ship is now secure. Repeat. The ship is now secure. Start security watch shift one. All other squads report to docking bay. “Ok, T’sunk’al,” Shelia said with a smile, “Everything is buttoned down. Ready to go?” “Absolutely,” T’sunk’al said as he took a straight edge and drew a line down from an intersection of three curves on a large sheet of paper to the x-axis of the graph. He then headed over to the navigation console. “Jessie, is Bunny in control of their jump-drive?” he asked into an intercom. “You know it,” Jessie chirped. “We’re just waiting on the numbers.” “I’m entering them now.” “Bunny has the data and is feeding it into the drives. Capacitor banks are already charged. Spinning up the drive now. We will be ready to jump in ten minutes.” “Sweet!” Shelia exclaimed with a grin. “It was a little rough there for a minute but looks like everything is finally going according to plan.” Helena was sitting with the Terran sex slaves when the door opened and Gloria walked in pushing a large cart piled with planks, ropes, and other assorted materials. “Hello,” Gloria said in a monotone voice. “I am pleased to see that you didn’t die.” Helena said nothing. She just glared at Gloria with a mixture of rage and hate. Gloria turned to Roberts. “Are we good, killer?” “No. No we aren’t. Just stay out of our way.” Gloria showed no emotion. “Fair enough,” she said. “So where are my toys?” “This way,” Roberts said icily. Gloria turned her empty soulless eyes towards the room. Helena shrank back. It was the first time she saw them. She had never seen eyes like those, ever. “Why don’t you two take the Terrans out of here? It’s about to get… unpleasant,” she said to Helena. “I’ll call for someone to meet you outside,” Roberts said calmly. “You should really go.” “No,” Helena said, “I need to see this.” “Fair enough,” Gloria said. “If it bleeds it leads, right?” “It’s not like that. I… we… need to know, that’s all.” “Cool. We will send some people to get the Terrans. I’ll wait until they are gone,” Gloria said in an empty hollow voice. “Helena,” Roberts said carefully, “are you sure? This is going to be bad, really bad. I’m not sure what she has in mind but I am sure it’s going to be fucked up.” “If I’m going to cover this then I’m going to cover all of this. People need to know exactly what happened.” Gloria just shrugged, opened up a tool bag, and pulled out a cordless drill and saw… “Oh Jesus...” Helena gasped. Attention all teams and passengers… Prepare for jump There was the familiar “tingle” of entering hyperspace but, no lurch, no groan, no shudder. It was a near flawless entry. “Shit, T,” Shelia grinned, “I knew we paid you for a reason.” “That was a rather nice one if I do say so myself,” T’sunk’al buzzed happily. “That nice smooth entry into hyperspace doesn’t guarantee a nice smooth exit, however.” “Still, I will call it a win. How long are we going to be in hyperspace?” “I wanted to put us firmly into interstellar space with at least a parsec between us and any star. To get that we will be in hyperspace for… still getting used to your time units,” he said as he typed away on a z’uush calculator, “thirteen hours twenty seven minutes.” “Great. Time for some looting!” Shelia jumped out of the command chair. “Jessie!” “Boss?” “Switch all command functions over to the Tiger and lock down the bridge.” She turned to T’sunk’al. “C’mon, let’s go shopping!” After a short briefing and scheduling of the watch shifts Shelia and T’sunk’al walked onto the promenade for a little light “shopping.” “SHELIA!” a huge voice boomed as an even bigger drax approached. “Volshugna!” Shelia yelled as she strode up and gave him a hug. “Does your dishonor have no limits? Is there any depth to which you will not stoop?” “Volshy, you know there is nothing I hate more than a fair fight,” Shelia laughed as they traded blows upon the shoulders. She looked at the only slightly smaller drax accompanying him. “That guy is almost as ugly as you are. There is no way that can be a coincidence.” “You are correct, dishonorable one,” Volshugna said with pride. “This is my cub, Kash. This is his first hunt!” “I am not your cub anymore, father. I am of age now.” “Kash, you will be my cub until you make me stop calling you that just as I was my father’s cub until I made him release the title,” Volshugna laughed. “You will need a few more years and a few more hunts, just like I did.” Kash shifted in embarrassment. Volshugna just roared with laughter and put him in an affectionate (for a drax) headlock. Kash hissed and bit him in the side which just made Volshugna laugh even harder as he released him. “He fights dirty!” Shelia chuckled, “I like that.” “He is disappointed with you.” “Oh really?” “He had his heart set on getting his hands on a human skull but your devotion to Terran dirty tricks deprived him of a kill.” “Hmm...” Shelia said with a smile, “Don’t give up hope yet, Kash baby. We may be able to set you up with something.” “Don’t tease the boy, Shelia.” “I’m not teasing. The job isn’t over till we get away clean and divvy up the spoils. Plenty can still happen and if anything does I will try to get Kashie here in the mix.” “You are a good woman, Shelia!” Volshugna roared as he batted her shoulder. “Goddammit, I’m going to need that arm,” Shelia laughed. A few hours later, Logan grabbed a bottle from behind the bar of the restaurant where Shelia and some of her crew were having a nice meal and plopped down beside her. “Can I buy you a drink?” he laughed as he poured both of them a shot. “You know I don’t drink on a job, sweetie,” Shelia responded as she cut into her steak. “Oh, come on, we got this one in the bag,” Logan said as he poured himself a shot. “It isn’t in the bag until it’s in the bag. If you are serious about stepping up your game you should start thinking like that, you know.” “Meh, I’ll start thinking like that on the next job,” he laughed as he knocked back the shot. He looked over at her with a smile, “So, what’s the plan?” “Well,” Shelia said as she took a drink of water, “We will be in hyperspace for another eight hours and then once we pop into real space we will get down to business.” “What do you mean, ‘business’.” “First off we set up some cameras and execute Councilor Morgan. I want to do that right. Only get to do that one once you know,” Shelia laughed. “Then, we start really going to work on the ship. We will loot the casino, shake down the passengers, check for any good solid Terran bounties, and shit like that.” “Shit like the bank?” Logan asked grinning. “Yeah, like the bank. Rumor has it that there is shit in those safety deposit boxes that will blow your mind. They also say that there are some larger storage areas as well. We are going to find some really nice shit.” “What about the numbered accounts?” Logan asked as he poured another drink for himself. Shelia just narrowed her eyes at him. “Yeah, we will probably try to grab them but we don’t expect much out of it. You could spend years trying to grind at that encryption and still not get shit. We might try to ransom them or we might just toss them out the airlock. Can you imagine the screams and wails when they realize that all those credits are just gone forever,” Shelia laughed. “But don’t you have that super-hacker?” “Even the almighty Jessie is human, Logan. The encryption on those accounts is heavy. Seriously, those things are airtight. Complete waste of time. Don’t worry. There will still be plenty of credits to split up. I don’t want to promise what I can’t deliver but it’s no secret that we are going to be very generous with the bonuses. You be a good little boy and you will come away from this very happy. I promise.” Shelia said with a warm smile. “So, did you and your crew enjoy the little shopping spree?” “Oh yeah,” Logan grinned. “We even played nice with the other crews and everything.” “Good to hear,” Shelia smiled. “I was hoping we wouldn’t have a repeat of… previous issues.” “I put my foot down hard,” Logan laughed. “See? I can do that.” “Good to hear. Maybe you will become a proper pirate captain yet.” “So,” Logan asked, “what are all those cockroaches doing over at that one place?” “Those z’uush have been lead by T’sunk’al to a very nice chocolatier and introduced to the wonders of chocolate. Z’uush absolutely love chocolate.” “Huh, learn something new every day...” At another small restaurant Roberts emerged from the kitchen bearing a platter of sandwiches. “Not the usual fine dining experience, I’m afraid,” he said to Helena as he placed the platter down between them. “That’s ok,” she said. “I don’t think I’m going to have an appetite for quite awhile.” “Yeah. I did try to warn you.” “I know. I thought I was prepared but fuck...” “On the bright side it could have been a lot more graphic. She actually almost fully skinned someone alive once. Too bad for Bruce that she wasn’t feeling that merciful this time.” “Merciful?!” “Compared to crucifixion? Absolutely. Bruce and his friend would be dead already if she skinned them. They are going to suffer for quite awhile. It’s why crucifixion is Gloria’s favorite when she has the time and materials.” “Why the fuck do you have a monster like her on your crew?” “Because we can use a monster like her on our crew,” Roberts said calmly. “We aren’t a traveling gospel choir. We sometimes do fucked up things and that sometimes requires fucked up people. She isn’t like this normally. Something went really wrong with her this time. Fuck. This whole job is been going really wrong from the beginning. If I could have pulled the plug on this one I would have.” “What the fuck is wrong with her?” “Oh so many things… You know,” Roberts said as he chewed thoughtfully, “You should ask her yourself.” “Fucking what!?!?” “Seriously, you want to get the whole story? Interview her.” “I’m not getting anywhere near that psycho. She fucking tried to kill me!” “And she won’t try it again.” “How can you be so sure?” “Because she’s ‘normal’ at the moment, in full control.” “This is normal?!” “Yes. Right now she is just a machine as strange as that sounds. That craziness where she tried to kill you? Whatever that was is gone. Right now she is basically a walking AI and she has been ordered not to touch you, so she won’t. I truly hate her guts at the moment but I have complete faith that she is for lack of a better word, safe.” “Only if you are there and have one of your fucking machine guns pointed at her fucking head.” “Oh, I’ll be there and armed but I won’t point it at her. It would be too much temptation. It’s a damn good thing I’m leaving because I don’t think I can ever look at her again without wanting to kill her.” “Well that makes two of us,” Helena said as she took a nibble of a sandwich. “The difference is that you can… You can, right?” “Effortlessly,” Roberts said as he finished off his sandwich. “To be honest, it’s taking a lot not to just go ahead and do it anyway. I really want her dead for what she did.” “Me too... Um, Paul?” “Yes?” “How long will it take for them to die?” “Everybody’s different but it will take awhile. Gloria did it so it would take as long as possible but I’m pretty sure they will get ‘mercy’ in the end. Shelia had them fitted with vitals monitors.” “Why?” “Odds are because she has some questions for them, probably concerning how they got the Terrans. She will let things go for awhile and then show up with two syringes for each of them. One will be euthanasia and the other will be something to help keep them alive for even longer. Then she will question them and if they cooperate she will then administer euthanasia.” “If they don’t cooperate?” “Then she will give them the meds that will keep them alive for even longer. She may even have Eno treat them to extend things even further. Then she will ask again. If they still don’t talk, then she might have them taken down, allow them to recuperate a little, then put them back up again. Repeat until they break. If it takes too long there are some drugs they can add to the mix. They’ll talk. Gloria’s a monster but she’s nothing compared to Shelia. If Shelia wants them to talk they will talk. It’s said that Shelia can make even a Collective warrior scream and beg for mercy.” “Fuck! I know they are scum but damn...” “Hey, these watches actually fit!” Jak’kul’sha said happily as his team was picking through the remains of a jewelry store. “And these little round things are delicious!” Mul’sha’kal said happily as she pulled another large pearl off of a necklace. “I’m pretty sure you aren’t supposed to eat those,” Bal’sur’kala chuckled as he selected an expensive watch. “What? Are they poisonous or something?” “Let me check,” Bal’sur’kala said as he pulled out his tablet, “Hmm… Those are called ‘pearls’ and they are made of something called nacre, a secretion made by something called an ‘oyster’, a creature from Terra. They are actually quite valuable. Looking at this there is nothing in there harmful to us. You are gobbling up thousands of credits but aside from that it’s all good.” “Well then I’ll just be sure to savor them then. Here, try one,” she said as she handed Bal’sur’kala one from the strand. “You’re right. They are quite tasty!” “Too bad we won’t be able to get more of these,” Mul’sha’kal said as she started handing them out to her team. “Oh we will.” Bal’sur’kala said with a happy click. “Oysters make the inner layer of their whole shell out of this stuff. I’m willing to bet we will be able to get our manipulators on plenty of it cheaply. According to this only these little round accretions are valuable. The shells themselves are not expensive at all.” “So maybe we should stop eating thousands of fuckin’ credits then,” Jak’kul’sha laughed as he popped a pearl into his mouth. “At the very least wait ‘till some of the porkies can see us do it. Bet that would be funny as fuck.” “Hopefully one of the passengers is wearing some of these and we can just take them off of their neck and eat them right in front of them. That would be hilarious!” Salz’rash laughed. Mul’sha’kal chuckled as she started hooking several gold chains together. “Yeah, we just gotta do that… There!” she said as she hooked the chains to both ends of a jeweled necklace and slid it around where her head connected to her carapace. “How does that look?” “Looks sharp!” Bal’sur’kala said with a wiggle of his eyestalks. “Hey, you’re a glittershell,” Jak’kul’sha said to Bal’sur’kala, “How do you guys have those jewels on your shells like you do?” “Oh you use adhesive for the cheaper stuff and the good stuff they install little threaded mounts right into the carapace where the jewelry screws in. I think a good adhesive is better than the posts and I can whip up the right stuff easy.” “Great!” Jak’kul’sha said as he smashed open a display case and pulled out a massive jeweled pendant. “I always wanted something like this! Look at it. What a lovely specimen!” “Hey guys, after this let’s head over to one of the clothing stores,” Ray’shel’zun said as he grabbed a handful of diamond rings, “I would love to find a nice cape or something.” “I’m pretty sure that they don’t have z’uush capes in stock,” Bal’sur’kala laughed, “and you might want to reconsider those rings. Diamonds are worth a lot less in the Republic and the Empire.” “Use your imagination. If humans have something that fits the top part of their body it would be close. A tailor should be able to change it to suit me. I’ll just grab a few. You know the fabric will be high-credit. As far as the rings go they are pretty and I like them. I’m keeping them. I’m going to cut the hoop here then crimp them around some of my fiddlers.” “That’s actually a good idea,” Bal’sur’kala said thoughtfully, “Not sure how the humans do it but the real high-end z’uush shops just stock cloth and leather. They make everything to order. Not sure if a cruise-ship would have one of those but let’s go see.” “Sounds good,” Jak’kul’sha said, “We need to leave some shit here for the other gangs anyhow. Besides, I would just love to get a nice bag or something. Maybe one of those, what do you they call them, purses I think?” “I think purses are for females in Terran culture, dude.” “Female humans maybe,” Jak’kul’sha said, “We all carry bags and I’ve always wanted a nice one.” With a only a very slight groan, the White Star popped out of hyperspace. “T, you are a fucking artist,” Shelia said as she swatted him on the back. “Yes, I’m quite pleased with that jump provided we are anywhere close to where I intended. It’s going to take a little while to properly fix our position but at first glance we have the middle of fucking nowhere part of it right. Let’s just hope it’s the right middle of fucking nowhere.” “Super. We will get that all hammered down after the execution,” Shelia said. “We have other matters to deal with now.” “Right you are. Let’s get this over with.” “Yeah,” Shelia said gravely. “Messy business but it has to be done.” “So, how is going? Everything ready?” Shelia asked Helena as she walked into a conference room. “Yes. Ready to go. I put a mark on the floor where the councilor should go.” Helena said grimly, “This is a lovely camera by the way.” “Thanks. After we get the footage you can keep it.” “Really? Wow! Thanks!” Logan and his whole crew walked in. Shelia turned to them with a smile. “Came to watch the show?” Shelia asked. “Yeah, wouldn’t miss it. Not every day that a Federation councilor gets gunned down.” “Cool, it won’t be long now. Ah, here he is, the man of the hour!” Shelia said with a grin as Councilor Morgan was drug into the room by Roberts and Jacob. “You… You can’t do this!” Councilor Morgan shouted “Actually we can,” Shelia said with a smile. “See that little piece of tape on the floor? Drag him over there,” she said to her men. “Please! Let’s be reasonable about this!” Councilor Morgan plead as he was put in position. “As reasonable as you were when you set up Red Sunday?” “L-look… It was a mistake, ok. I made a mistake. We made a mistake. There is no reason to-” “Oh there are plenty of reasons,” Shelia said. “One reason that your attack and your death have in common is money.” “Money?” “Views, sweetie,” Shelia said with a smile as she softly stroked his face, “We are going to post this on a pirate server and millions of people are going to line up and pay to watch your brains get blown all over a wall, that wall to be specific. You are going to star in your very own snuff film.” “I’m a Federation councilor!” Councilor Morgan screamed. “They will hunt you down. There will be no place you can hide!” “Oh they are already hunting for us. What are they going to do, kill us twice?” Shelia laughed and then turned to Helena. “Ready to go?” “Yes,” Helena said gravely from behind a tripod mounted camera, “as ready as I am going to be.” “Right,” Shelia said with a smile, “Let’s get started then. Councilor Morgan, you have been found responsible for playing a major part in the false allegations against the Terran Republic, the corrupt decision to launch a surprise attack that killed many innocent Terrans, and the resulting war that resulted in the deaths of millions of innocent civilians on both sides. Your actions were made-” “That’s not true! You are lying!!” Councilor Morgan shouted over her. “We have proof,” Shelia said, “That proof will be attached to the footage when it is posted so everyone can read it and make their own decision. Before you ask we got the proof when we hacked the Federation servers. We got everything, councilor. You can shout and scream all you want but the files we attach will make our case.” “It’s a lie, people they are telling lies!! The files are falsified! This is all-” He was cut short by Shelia walking over and backhanding him knocking him to the ground. “I was going to read my statement before I killed you but since you keep interrupting I’ll just kill you first and then read my statement.” “No! No, please… please...” Councilor Morgan was hauled to his feet, a wet stain appearing on his trousers. “Ok, hold him right there.” Shelia said as she backed up a few feet and pulled out her sidearm. She then turned to the camera. “This pistol, here zoom in on this serial number please. Got it? Great. This pistol will be placed on e-buy for any interested collectors. Not sure when I will be able to post the auction but keep your eyes open for it.” She then turned to Councilor Morgan. “Good-bye, porkie.” “I’m afraid I can’t let you do that,” Logan said as his entire crew leveled their weapons at Shelia and her team. The rest of the series can be found here I'm not going to leave you guys hanging for two weeks this time, promise.
I made a list of content from the current wave of Boxsets and whether DGM sells them [Part 1]
You can find Part 2 here Based on a previous post, I decided to make a list of every disc from each of the currently available King Crimson boxsets. I do not include the content from the original Court of the Crimson King boxset from 2009 as that is long out of print and King Crimson is going to be redoing that set in the future. Where possible, I will include links to DGM if the discs are available for sale digitally through their store, in case you aren't interested in the sets as a whole, but might still want portions of them. If the disc is exclusive to the boxset, then I will make a note of it. This list is in order of when in King Crimson's history the boxsets cover, not necessarily the release order the sets came out in. For the sake of condensing the list as well as ease of reading the list, I will leave off the Discs that do not include studio releases as the main focus of this post is to show where on DGM Live you can purchase the content of the boxsets without having to purchase the entire boxset.
Sailors' Tales (1970-1972)
Sailor's Tales Having lost half the band after In the Court of the Crimson King, Fripp would convince Greg Lake and Michael Giles to return as session musicians for In the Wake of Poseidon, but after that he would need a new overall lineup if King Crimson were to continue. This second Lineup would encompass In the Wake of Poseidon post-studio recording through Islands. This boxset covers the Islands era of King Crimson at the beginning of the 1970's. It was released on November 10, 2017. CD Content-

Larks' Tongues in Aspic: The Complete Recordings After the Islands Lineup Broke up, Robert Fripp would recruit Bill Bruford of Yes, John Wetton of Family, and David Cross to form the lineup that would run for the rest of King Crimson's 70's career. This Boxset picks up where Sailors' Tales left off, covering Late 1972 and 1973's Larks' Tongues in Aspic Studio Album. The boxset was released on October 15, 2012. CD Content-

The Road to Red
The Road to Red Rounding out the end of the 1970's saga of King Crimson, as well as the Larks' Tongues era, John Wetton's and David Cross' tenure, and even the final tour before Robert Fripp discovers Dapper Dan in the 1980's, we have The Road to Red. This Boxset picks up days after Starless leaves off in 1974 and goes through the American tour King Crimson embarked prior to the release of Red. This boxset was released on October 14, 2013. CD Content-
On (and off) The Road After a nearly 7 year hiatus, King Crimson is back after Fripp brought back Bill Bruford and enlisted Americans Tony Levin and Adrian Belew into a very different iteration of King Crimson, one that wasn't even originally going to be called King Crimson. This box set covers this era, encompassing the 1980s and the associated studio albums of Discipline, Beat, and Three of a Perfect Pair. This Box set was released on October 28, 2016. CD Content-
This is a set of studio recordings made that would eventually be scrapped in favor of what would become Three of a Perfect Pair. This was previously available in the King Crimson Collector's Club, but this version has 2 additional tracks. The DGM Live purchase lacks the additional tracks as well. The additional tracks are:
Adrian and Robert
Three of a Perfect Pair
Absent Lovers- Not on DGM Live
This is not available as a Digital purchase from DGM Live, however you can purchase a CD copy of it from DGM USA or DGM UK.
Absent Lovers- Second half of Disc 7's content
Are you recording Gary? - Not on DGM Live
This disc is similar to Larks' Tongues in Aspic's Session Reels in that it is a behind the scenes look at King Crimson in the studio. The title track is 15 minutes of King Crimson jamming and chatting working out material. The other three tracks are essentially abridged versions of the three albums of the era showing various portions of the albums in work in progress states.
